A Hero Has Fallen

I would like to put in a brief statement for someone great we have lost this weekend.

Out of respect for him, this will be threaded hither and thither with particular vulgarity. If you don't like it, you have no respect for the deceased.

For those of you who don't know, the great comedian George Carlin died last night. Normally I don't give a flying fuck about who died or didn't die, but Carlin was a big influence on my humor. I don't quite use as much vulgarity, but the quirky, sarcastic, even at times misanthropic view is very much a poor attempt to channel the Master.

(I wouldn't say Death, AKA Morty would have his voice, really - probably smoother, a bit icier. Like frozen yogurt. But I could totally imagine him saying the same things.)

For those of you poor, miserable, unwashed heathens who don't know who George Carlin was, I suggest you two get acquainted. He was particularly notable for his "Seven Dirty Words You Can't Say On TV," which has, since its origins, grown to an immense and well-organized databank on his site (GeorgeCarlin.com). His "Seven Dirty Words" bit became an issue that lead to the FCC's vicious, iron grip on radio programs.

But those fuckers can rot in Hell, because we have plenty of worse shit on the Internet now. INCLUDING Carlin, to stand immortal forever! Until the Internet dies when our society is wiped out by our own failed experiments.

Then again - at that point, we'll all be gone, and THEN who will be laughing?

I know I will. George Carlin taught me to find joy in entropy.
