A Year Gone

Guess what Friday is!

February 23rd. 1-23. The day I started Melody & Macabre.

Wow, a year's already gone by. And holy crap, it's been rough. My art's improved, though not by much, and my story's... totally not as I first conceived it. Originally, it'd be an extention of my "Comic Blog" where I'd fill the loss of many of my friends with God. Then I decided Death, to use as a misanthropic mouthpiece. Then, I decided... I could do a whole comic with just him, so I added a small boy. Then the boy was switched out with a girl when I realized girls are better for the dichotomy.

I'd basically wanted a morbid Calvin & Hobbes. Then I started with my usual bad habit - I made a plot. Simon came in, then Samael, then Ace in an odd twist of fate - I drew him for somebody else, then kept him with no intent of actually giving it to the person, especially 'cuz the guy wanted an artist for his own comic, probably a manga which I can't stand in word (when not done by, for, or in Japanese) or in the struggle to do the artwork. I have a vaguely manga-esque style, but I'd never hope to actually succeed in it.

Also, I had Mel&Mac to worry about.

Man... so much still to come. I'm currently working on another minicomic, probably to come after Act II is finished, but before that, we're taking a week off to celebrate the first anniversary, and Scene 18 will begin on the first of February.

Sorry for so few news updates, I've been without internet. Still. Only getting two hours at the library.

An entire year??? Wow... I didn't think you had been doing this for that long...

Then again, I always miscalculate page quantities so there it is...

I think I know how you feel about "Manga". Not really my favorite type of webcomic and yet there are so many out there.

Anyway, I hope to see more Mel&Mac! I really do like the characters, especially Morty himself.
